Club Information
What is the CSA about? The CSA promotes surfcasting through educating our members.
At each meeting, we have a guest speaker talk to us on different aspects of surf fishing.
We have also had a number of programs put on by club members regarding
such things as fine tuning plugs, fishing with conventional gear, fly fishing the surf, fishing with live eels and much more. The
club also supports a book and video library.
We also try to promote surfcasting by getting children involved in the club.
We have a family membership which includes all members of your immediate family. We also have a youth
division in our annual fishing contest.
We try to preserve and protect our surfcasting tradition through
keeping our members informed of the activities of our state and local
governments regarding our fisheries. We also sponsor annual beach clean-ups in the Madison,
CT and Westerly, RI areas.
What type of fishingtrips does the CSA Sponsor? We sponsor monthly trips to local waters.
This way members can learn from other members where, when and how to fish waters which are close to home.
We also have trips to Rhode Island waters for those who don't mind
driving a distance to fish. The CSA also sponsors an annual spring surf fishing trip to the fabled waters
of Cuttyhunk Island and a fall trip to the outer beaches of Cape Cod.
When and where does the CSA meet and what do the meetings consist of? The meetings consist of a review and discussion of
club business followed by a raffle and then the guest speaker for the evening. We meet at the Madison Surf Club in Madison CT.
